STATEMENT
Kontana Kas is my artistic name (1985, Santiago). I am interested in the impact caused by the intersections amid technology, nature and our interactions with these forces, sources of power, creating artworks that excite the senses thanks to the use of colors, geometric shapes, textures and lights.
My projects are born from my interest in investigating nature and its organic forms, as well as mechanics, how things work, and the limits to which different materials can be tested before they fail. The result of this is a recreation of spaces with constant interaction, transforming static installations into works with an immersive technique, building interactive pieces full of movement, lights, colors and life, progressing towards a new aesthetic. Where I use industrial materials because of their malleability and flexibility, they allow me to create infinite unpredictable effects.
It is with the incorporation of lights, colors, sound and images that, together with the interaction of the environment and the viewer, my work comes to life.
ESTRATEGÍA VISUAL
Kontana Kas es mi nombre artístico (1985, Santiago). Estoy interesada en el impacto causado por las intersecciones en medio de la tecnología, la naturaleza y nuestras interacciones con estas fuerzas, fuentes de poder, creando obras de arte que excitan los sentidos gracias al uso de colores, formas geométricas, texturas y luces.
Mis proyectos nacen de mi interés en investigar la naturaleza y sus formas orgánicas, así como la mecánica de cómo funcionan las cosas y los límites a los que se pueden probar diferentes materiales antes de estos fallen. El resultado de esto es una recreación de espacios con interacción constante, transformando instalaciones estáticas en obras con una técnica inmersiva, construyendo piezas interactivas llenas de movimiento, luces, colores y vida, progresando hacia una nueva estética. El uso de materiales industriales es debido a su maleabilidad y flexibilidad, ya que me permiten crear infinitos efectos impredecibles.
Es con la incorporación de luces, colores, sonido e imágenes que junto con la interacción del entorno y el espectador, mi trabajo cobra vida.
